Kristin McNabb is the grateful founder of Tease dance and fitness. She teaches among 20 other instructors at Tease. When she discovered pole as an alternative to traditional fitness, she was a bit hesitant to give it a try. She was on staff at her church as the volunteer director and quietly wondered what everyone might think. But that first spin around the pole hooked her. “I felt like a goddess and an acrobat!" Kristin exclaimed. Once she saw the changes in her body and a noticeable weight loss, she knew she had to share it. She began over 14 years ago teaching friends, then their friends, and so on . . . Kristin is 46 years old and together with her husband, Will, they have 5 kids.
"As a wife, mom and business owner my life (like yours) is busy, but filled with love. Tease is my haven to get away from the world and get down to just being a woman. I know you will find the same solace and beautiful community I have within our studios." -Kristin
Lynzhi is also our lead pole fitness instructor. She spent most of her career in the private sector working for politicians. After graduating from Yale, she started to head to law school only to realize that politics and law were no longer her passions. She wanted to make a difference in the world, and yet often left trials feeling discouraged with the system. That was when Lynzhi moved back to Illinois to pursue her other loves- fitness and nutrition. She was looking for a ballet or dance class when she found out about pole dancing, and decided to try something new.
When Lynzhi went to her first Teaser, she was so nervous that she couldn't drive herself to class. Six years later and she teaches 5 days a week, and affectionately calls the studio "home." She loves Tease not only because of the awesome group of smart, supportive, beautiful women, but because for the first time in her life, she can tell that she's helping empower women and making the world a better place.
Tease has been there for her through thick and thin, and she hopes that if you've taken the time to read this, that you seriously consider signing up for class. She can't wait to meet you. <3
Amanda has been at Tease Dance and Fitness since 2012 where she started with pole. Amanda later began training on lyra in 2016. Amanda performs and competes with pole dance throughout the US, but fell in love with the endless possibilities of lyra. Amanda loves the options lyra gives her regarding the varying degrees of difficulty, strength and flexibility needed. As Amanda tells her students, when training lyra: “spin, don’t fall, and point your toes. Anything else is fair game.”
It was completely inevitable that Anne found herself falling in love with pole dancing and the Tease studio. While her pole journey started in 2013, everything in her life seemed to have lead up to her sharing love and art with Tease. Anne is a student of classical ballet, modern, tap, jazz and most other dance forms you can throw at her. She spend her adolescence balancing theatre and dance, and did the same thing in college to get a dance minor. Cirque du Soliel introduced her to beautiful silks dancing, and her sister introduced her to the first videos of pole dancing. After realizing that she had to invest in herself and finally sign up for those pole classes she was yearning to take for so long, she found a second home at Tease. She loved the positive and encouraging environment and knew that this was a game changer.
Anne decided she wanted to teach pretty quickly into her pole journey. She loved taking classes with such powerful and inspiring women who constantly pushed her, made her love herself more and helped her accomplish more than she every thought possible. She wanted to join the ranks of these women and touch the lives of just as many women out there. Come join her and do what you might think is the impossible. Anne would love to help you grow stronger mentally and physically with the strength of silks, the sensuality of pole, and the grace of ballet!
Ashley is a Master’s student, studying both Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition. She has a second degree black belt and spent 9 years training in Martial arts. Ashley then moved on to dance for 4 years, learning hip hop. After the dance studio closed, she needed another creative outlet. She was fascinated by her friend’s pole progress pictures and her journey at Tease began. She brought her friends for a private birthday party and had so much fun laughing and learning, she couldn’t wait to sign up for classes. Silks improved her strength and gave way for her to create unique dances. Pole skyrocketed her confidence and taught her to love herself just the way she is. She loves meeting all the beautiful, amazing women that walk into the studio everyday. Ashley loves teaching and sharing her passion. She can’t wait to be apart of your incredible aerial journey!
Once upon a time there was a princess, and she had two lovely little baby unicorns. They all lived happily in their palace, which was filled with lots of magical girly things. For fun, the princess liked to dance and spin and hang upside down on things she wasn't supposed to. So she decided to take pole dancing lessons. She enjoyed taking classes so much that she wanted to spread the joy to other princesses and queens across the land. So she began to teach. After teaching pole for two years she also began to teach lyra, so that these magical women could learn not only to spin and climb, but to fly and hang as well. It has been 4 years since the princess's journey began, and it is still just as magical as it was on day one.
Bobbi began pole dancing in 2011 after having her second daughter and looking for a way to work out without realizing she was working out. She immediately fell in love with it (surprisingly, because she has always been uncoordinated and sucked at all sports). and she began to immerse myself in pole dance and has performed numerous times and even competed once! In 2013, she began teaching and doing Lyra, which she also teaches now. Bobbi thinks that anyone who knows her will tell you that her dance style is on the sexier side, and that she loves teaching women how to get in touch with their inner temptress!
Christine started with Tease in 2011. She found a groupon and wanted to try it! It was always something that interested her even with no official dance background training. She felt it as a way to connect mind, body and soul and give herself a little T.L.C. Walking into the studio she was a little scared and nervous not knowing what to expect she saw a bunch of ladies of all ages and sizes all there for different reasons. The atmosphere was inviting, candles lit, music playing and women laughing. After her first 90 minute class she was hooked!!! She signed up for classes and has been dancing ever since! Christine has competed at various pole competitions:
Midwest Pole Dance Competition -Pole Performer of the Year 2012 Essential Division
Central Pole Sport Organization -1st place Entertainment Level 4 2015
Christine started teaching in 2014. She continues her knowledge and skills by participating in workshops and trainings with the world’s leading pole instructors/professionals. Christine is certified by Discoveries Dance and Pole Moves. The love she has for her students to grow and succeed if phenomenal! She loves watching her students grow as a pole dancer as well as in life. She encourages them to try new things and play with new tricks and movements. She is supportive and breaks down moves and explains them clearly and precisely. Christine currently also teaches co-ed classes. She loves a good workout to get the class going! She is constantly taking workshops to expand her knowledge and bring new stuff to her classes. Fun, energetic, caring, supportive, encouraging and loving are a few incredible words to describe Christine. You can ask her anything and she will have a solution on how to help. She loves helping everyone with their nemesis tricks! She is a nurse by trade and loves her dog Madison.
Jess Rose started pole dancing in 2013 in Tampa, FL, and it was love at first spin. Jess received her ElevatED certification in 2014 and has taught in various studios with a focus on back bending and spin pole. She has competed in multiple PSO competitions as well as NAPDC and Minnesota. Jess loves to perform in showcases and variety shows such as The Wild Side and Bad to the Chrome, but her first love is her mental health benefit, Pole Through: Art for Awareness. She hopes to continue to grow as an instructor and student and is excited to be on the Tease Team!
Jessica always had a passion for dance. She was eager to find a style of fitness that didn't necessarily involve walking into a gym. She came across pole dancing and fell in love immediately. Becoming apart of the Tease family was the greatest decision she could've made. Everyone welcomed her with open arms and she has met the most inspirational women at the studio. Not only has pole dancing helped Jessica with her physical stength, but also, her mental and emotional strength and stability. Tease is her safe haven and place to run to when times get tough. Just put on a song, let the music take you away, and dance freely. Jessica has won 1st place in Level 2 Dramatics at Central Pole Championships in 2017. She also enjoys cross-training in aerial silks and lyra.

Karyn fell in love with Tease Dance and Fitness in 2009. In 2012 she was so addicted that she certified in the Pole Moves Beginner/Intermediate Pole Fitness Instructor Certification and then became an Instructor at Tease. Shortly after becoming an Instructor she was also certified in the Pole Moves Advanced Certification. Tease gave her the passion to try competing and in March of 2013 she competed for the first time and won the Essential Division of the Gateway Pole Competition in St. Louis. She competed in the Windy City Pole Competition in 2013 as well as the Central Pole Sport Competitions in 2013 & 2014.
While Karyn was new to the choreography/competitive side of pole dancing, her professional career consists of training and choreographing competitive athletes. As an athlete herself she was a competitive gymnast, college cheerleader and a member of a co-ed acrobatic team that performed in the United States, Canada and Europe for 10 years. Pole dancing, for Karyn, is a continuation of her athletic endeavors allowing her to express herself in a new and exciting sport.
Karyn specializes in teaching pole at Tease and is known for breaking down tricks into as many pieces as it takes to learn them. Her advice to new students of Tease is that you don’t need to be extremely flexible or super athletic to be good. You will find what you love most and use it often. She wants her students to trust themselves as well as the techniques we teach at Tease to accomplish their goals and to know that nothing comes instantly. It takes hard work as well as determination to perfect and grow while soul searching to enjoy the journey.
Kim walked into Tease Dance and Fitness four years ago to take a Teaser and has been in love with pole and the studio ever since. Coming from a predominately sports background, pole has helped her find expression through dance. She has taken lessons from pros across the country from New York to LA and placed 2nd in the Artistic Dramatic Level 3 division of the Central Pole Championships in 2013. She has also cross trained in aerial silks. Kim is proud to be part of the Tease family, as they are some of the most wonderful, supportive, and inspiring individuals she has ever met.
Melanie (Lanie) has been on and off doing pole and aerial for about 5 years. Flexibility has always come naturally to her, but she loved finding a place she fit in and could really train and work her body. She loves any music or movements that are slow and slinky and allow her to slither across the floor or body wave her way into your heart. She loves having fun and she will go the extra mile to make you smile. She fell in love with Tease and the amazing atmosphere this studio has to offer. Having moved to IL from MN as an adult, it was difficult to make real friends outside of work, but Tease helped her find the best place to find some of her now best friends. Tease is not just a place to work out and get fit with other people, it is a strong group of beautiful people of all shapes, sizes, genders, and races, who build each other up. We celebrate each individual success. When she was a student, class was literally her therapy. It was only time she gave herself each week, just those 2 hours she had at the studio. It was that feeling and knowledge that made her know she wanted to be an instructor and change lives the way her amazing instructors had changed hers. She loves watching new polers (pole babies!) gain confidence, strength, and a whole new outlook on their bodies. Her favorite part of being an instructor at Tease is watching new groups of women (and some kick butt guys) bond and help each other through life. Whether you are going through a separation, move, new job, new baby, or new body- Tease has everything you need to be the best you possible.
Laura walked into Tease with a friend and a Groupon, never imagining where it would take her. As a runner she was looking for a fun and creative way to get flexible; she was also looking for some “me” time to balance out her crazy life of a mom of 3 boys and a job in the corporate world. What happened inside the walls the walls of the Tease studio was far more incredible than anything she was looking for, it did not take long or her to realize that for the first time in her life she wasn’t excercizing to change anything about herself. At Tease she was learning to see, embrace and celebrate who she already was! It was so very empowering not only to see this happening in herself but also to see it happening to the women in her classes too! Over time she heard herself cheering louder and louder for her sisters in class when they accomplished one of their goals, learned something new or mastered something the had been trying for a while. These cheers combined with Laura’s love of pole became her hearts calling-to be able to spread the empowerment she found at Tease to others! Laura’s passion is in having fun with her students while they explore movement, dance and connect to music and the pole. These days she has left the corporate world behind. She still runs and above all believes we should always try new things because you never know the amazing places they will lead you.
When Lauren began her pole journey, she wasn't sure where it would lead her. Now, she can't imagine not sharing her experience with the incredible students of Tease and her fellow instructors! The loving and supportive environment of Tease transformed Lauren into a more confident and sexy woman! Lauren is a beginner and advanced instructor certified, and although she loves to learn new tricks and transitions, her favorite part of pole is flow, and exploring different ways you can express yourself by integrating tricks with dance. Learning and teaching at Tease has been life changing for Lauren, and she can't wait to share your pole journey with you!
Megan began her Tease journey about five years ago when a friend introduced her to burlesque. One night and she was hooked! As a mother of a 1yo and a 3 yo finding "me" time was difficult but she was a permanent fixture on Monday and Wednesday nights. Her instructors helped her find her sexy that was missing. A year and a half ago the opportunity to teach burlesque came about and she jumped at the chance to help other women find their sexy too! Dance has been an important part of Megan's life for as long as she can remember. She has practiced in all forms of dance for years. Tease has given her a place to relax, find a strength that was missing and be free to be sexy without judgement. She loves to share her love of dance with her students. Watching women progress from covered up to fishnets and costumes is one of her favorite reasons she loves teaching burlesque at Tease.
Pamela decided to first try Tease in 2017 after her husband got her a Groupon for a Teaser class. She had randomly gone to watch a pole competition a few years before, and while sitting in the audience, she kept smacking him in the leg saying “Wow! I NEED to do this! I WILL learn how to do this one day!”
She had always been into fitness, spending her college years as a track and field/cross country runner at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. But, after years and years of running she was looking for something “different” to do for a workout that would increase her flexibility, and after having 2 baby girls via C-section 3 years apart (hence the delay in finally starting pole), she was eager to find a fun way to get her long-lost ab strength back, and excited to find her “sexy mama” self.
Enter: Tease Dance & Fitness! Immediately after her teaser class, she signed up for an 8-week session and has never looked back! In addition to the incredible progress in strength she has gained over the years, she has found an unmatched sisterhood with her pole sisters! The studio is her happy place. It’s her time to unwind and work on herself - mind, body and soul.
She decided to take the leap onto the competition stage for the first time in 2018, earning 3rd place at the Central Pole Championships in the Level 3 Dramatic division, and now looks forward to competing again in the future. She is instructor certified by Vertical Art Athletics and can’t wait to meet you, inspire you and help you live out your goals in class! She truly believes you owe it to yourself to discover what the wonderful world of Tease has in store for you, because life is simply too short not to, Beautiful!
Rachel has been training on aerial silk for many years. Although she never had a background in gymnastics or dance, she was captivated by the art and she was determined to become a professional in the aerial art. Having a background in fine art and having always loved dance, aerial silk was the perfect combination. Aerial silks has allowed Rachel to succeed in many aspects of my life due to it's empowering capabilities and the strength she has developed both physically and mentally. She absolutely loves teaching at Tease Dance and Fitness due the inviting and comfortable atmosphere and the fun, encouraging and knowledgeable management and instructors. Rachel is so excited to be teaching her students the art of aerial silk otherwise known as aerial tissu. Being part of Tease Dance and their aerial silk program encourages her students to love the body they are in, to change their perception of themselves, and help them discover a new and improved self.
I began my journey at Tease after coming to an intro class with a co-worker. I was instantly hooked and knew that I would be a lifer. Pole helped unlock a part of my feminity and gave me the courage to own it without apology. I wanted to help others discover the same for themselves. As an instructor, I am able to blend my personal trainer and dance background to provide a safe space for my students to explore themselves through the medium of pole dance.
